Question: I'm a 60 yr old male, in good physical shape, that was diagnosed 5 years ago with a TIA. Tests showed that I had a factor 5 Leiden Mutation which correlates with the fact that I have always had no problem with blood clotting. I was put on Plavix but I think that there has got to be a better way of handling this than staying on this drug the rest of my life. Also in a TEOTWAWKI situation, Plavix would be unavailable. Ideas?

Thank you Dr. Koelker for this web site and the information you are bring us. I have been searching for a way to acquire antibiotics in particular as I am allergic to penicillian (possibly mis-spelled). My doctor normally prescribes either Keflex or a Z-pack. I have been his patient for 15-years but have been reluctant to approach him on the subject. This gives me encouragement. Thanks
