What medical concerns do you have?

To begin I'll be addressing the issues I believe are common to all of us, including preparation, acute illness, and chronic conditions.

But for now, what concerns do you have?  What issues would you like me to address?

Please post questions and comments below, and I'll address them in the near future.

  1. Question: I'm a 60 yr old male, in good physical shape, that was diagnosed 5 years ago with a TIA. Tests showed that I had a factor 5 Leiden Mutation which correlates with the fact that I have always had no problem with blood clotting. I was put on Plavix but I think that there has got to be a better way of handling this than staying on this drug the rest of my life. Also in a TEOTWAWKI situation, Plavix would be unavailable. Ideas?

  2. Thank you Dr. Koelker for this web site and the information you are bring us. I have been searching for a way to acquire antibiotics in particular as I am allergic to penicillian (possibly mis-spelled). My doctor normally prescribes either Keflex or a Z-pack. I have been his patient for 15-years but have been reluctant to approach him on the subject. This gives me encouragement. Thanks
